Error message Response: 550 Permission denied. Error: Critical file transfer error

#1 Post by SSobrado » 2019-01-12 19:11

Hello,

This is all new to me and I apologize in advance. I downloaded FileZilla Pro and am hoping to use Blackbox to sell photo stocks. I installed both on my MacPro book. Filezilla is connecting but when I go to upload a picture or a video I get this message:

Command: PASV
Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (52,203,34,140,40,112).
Command: STOR Me.jpg
Response: 550 Permission denied.
Error: Critical file transfer error

I have reviewed others with the same problem and even tried some of their fixes but to no avail.

Can anyone guide me through this please?

Thank you in advance,

That's a problem with the server. You don't have any upload permission. Did you use the correct login data? If yes, you need to contact server support in order to resolve this.

Hello and thank you.. so I travel for work, I am mostly in hotels and Starbucks. I don’t have access to these servers so this may not work for me. Anything I can do on my laptop? I truly appreciate your time and assist.

The server is denying you access to upload (no Write permission set). So, unless you chose the wrong location for upload, there's nothing you can do from your side.

Note that you don't need any direct access to the FTP server. Every server should be cared for by a server administrator or support team. If you contact those people (by Email, for example), they should be able to assign proper rights.
The people you need to get in touch with would be Blackbox support.
