Changing permissions: "File attributes could not be retrieved"

#1 Post by slandman33 » 2019-01-12 13:40

I am trying to use indexhibit to create a website. I have previously been creating a static website on using aws s3 buckets and route 53 hosted zones. I got filezilla pro and managed to connect my s3 account to filezilla and upload the indexhibit files to the root directory in filezilla. Now I'm trying to change the permissions on the indexhibit files (per their instructions), but I'm getting an error message (attached). The log for this is as follows:

Command: Connection: keep-alive
Command: Host: s3.dualstack.us-east-1.amazonaws.com:443
Command: Keep-Alive: 300
Command: User-Agent: FileZilla/3.39.0
Command: x-amz-content-sha256: e3b0c44298fc1c149afbf4c8996fb92427ae41e4649b934ca495991b7852b855
Command: x-amz-date: 20190112T133916Z
Response: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found
Response: x-amz-request-id: EEF8C21949577ECE
Response: x-amz-id-2: DmdiJc/6lLn8N9aY66zt6kyYcizz2AKfKx1eEyIyX0Bry+55cd7noVgt0BRgtbUp7LlWmgCdec4=
Response: Content-Type: application/xml
Response: Transfer-Encoding: chunked
Response: Date: Sat, 12 Jan 2019 13:39:16 GMT
Response: Server: AmazonS3

Any suggestions? I tried changing permissions within the AWS bucket (made everything public and writeable, etc.) but that didn't seem to do the trick.

Thanks.

I can't register for an account because none of the order numbers associated with my order are working to set up the account. Can I just get help here?

So, you are on Mac and bought through their Store? Then, the order number might indeed not work.

Unfortunately, I'm not really the S3 expert, we need to wait for the dev. :^^:

Please post a complete log of an attempt to obtain the file attributes, truncated logs are of no use.

Are you by chance trying to change permissions on a directory?

You can only modify permissions of individual files on S3 with FileZilla Pro.
