530 Not logged in, user account has been disabled

#1 Post by pcn60@optusnet.com.au » 2019-03-15 02:33

I disabled the anonymous user account, then tried to access my ftp server using a browser. Instead of prompting me for a username and password, it displayed the error message "You do not have permission to view 'System@snap-394933'". On the server, it shows user 'anonymous' logging-in and then it reported the error, " 530 Not logged in, user account has been disabled". Even if I supply the user ID in the ftp URL, it shows the same error.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Web browsers have utterly atrocious FTP support, they are web browsers after all, not FTP clients.

Consider using an actual FTP client to access your server.

You're right. It only works on Chrome and Firefox. Edge and Safari don't prompt the user for a username and password. I'm actually building a website UI for a file server for my clients, so I need this to work.
Thanks for your help, though.
