Filezilla not supported on MacOS High Sierra?

#1 Post by TTcindy » 2017-10-18 17:16

Similar to title. High Sierra (ver. 10.13) has been out since September.
I have just downloaded the new filezilla client from the official site,
but my mac is giving me the "You can’t open the application “FileZilla-Installer” because it is not supported on this type of Mac." message.
Please help.
Thank you,
Cindy

Do you also experience this with the non-installer archive downloaded from additional download options page?

Download the Mac OS .tar.bz2 archive from the extended download page. Unpack and try.

We cannot help with false positives. You need to contact your AV maker, or download the non-bundled package.

Hi.

False positive? I don't understand.
You need to contact your AV maker
What is AV marker?

If is . Antivirus i don't use "AV". Is a mac
download the non-bundled package.
Download packages from your pages. One is a app and other is a installer.

Incredible....

AV maker, if not using any third-party one, is Apple. A false positive is detecting a threat if there is actually none.

I posted the link to the non-bundled packages more than once.

https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?show_all=1

The package on that page does NOT include any offers. However, there is only a tar.bz2 archive, the only installer package is the offer-based one.

Please note that this only concerns the free FileZilla version. The Pro version is always offer-free, of course.

Hi.

The link that passes is the link that you use for the package, and it is what you call false positive that jumps a message, relative rather to a compatibility problem with a library, than to a false positive.

If you do not like to help or collaborate, I do not know what you paint around here, except in very bad ways.

If you do not like mac or apple, well I understand it. But do not talk about false positives with such ease, nice. There are always people unable to work with different platforms without feeling abducted by a single

Ok .. I'm not going to waste more time with you. The truth is that I hope the problem is that you are not an anglophone, because your way of writing English and what you say indicates very bad ways.

Well, be on your way, then. I have no idea what you understood, but it was certainly not the way it was intended.

By the way, false positives happen on every OS. People on Windows get the same answer.

What do you think Apple Gatekeeper is? It's a cloud scanner/file rating utility , similar to Windows Smart Screen.

The other issue (MacOS 10.13) is a bug and being looked into. The topic is a bit untidy.

Turn of your computer anti virus program, then run Filezilla installation. That's what I did and it works fine.
Make sure to turn back on your anti virus protection once you've completed your installation.

Do not use crappy third-party tools to extract the archive. Only ever use the excellent built-in decompression utilities of macOS.
