Upgrading Server 0.9.52

#1 Post by itsupportguy » 2019-06-04 16:35

If I upgrade my current FileZilla Server from 0.9.52 to the latest, will I have to change all the user passwords to secure them? I ask because I saw in 0.9.54 it states "Newly set account passwords are now stored in form of salted SHA512 hashes". I want to make sure all passwords are secured. Thanks!

You do not need to actually change the password, entering the current one again will also save it in the new format. But yes, existing passwords will stay in the old MD5-based form until you take action.
