Can't run o MacOs Catalina

#1 Post by thefunkyjoint » 2019-10-21 13:39

Hi,

I've been using FZ for a long time, but after upgrade to Catalina i can't manage to run it.

When i try to install the free version, i get the error below :

“FileZilla” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.
This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information.

So i tried the Pro version, it installed, but when i go to my iCloud drive folder, it list no files, but there are ton of files there. I'm attaching the error screens.

Please help me !

In case you have declined a permissions prompt, check the App permissions page your system preferences. In addition, if you have obtained FileZilla Pro through the App Store, you need to grant permission through the directory access permissions dialog reachable through the Edit menu.

Thank you, the option in Edit menu did the trick !

I didn't know there is a Pro version, i just subscribed to it ! I've been using the free version for years and i'm happy to give a few bucks for a great software !

If the global theme of the OS is set to dark, FileZilla should be, too. There is no explicit setting in FileZilla for setting colors.

Unfortunately dark mode is not supported due to a framework limitation.

If only Apple would have chosen to follow the route of changing system colors if dark mode is used, instead of bolting a different mechanism on top and things would have worked out of the box with all apps. Incidentally the same problem Microsoft has with Windows. I take that as a sign that the major OS vendors no longer understand their own software, all they do these days is bolting new chrome on top of their sinking rustbuckets to make it look shiny.
