#1 Post by BlueMan » 2019-12-17 18:38

Hello !

I have free FileZila 3.46.0 for Windows, and i would like to know if i would have to uninstall it if i buy the Pro version ?

If not, is the Pro version is going to get back my connexions ?

Thanks.

You do not have to uninstall it, but there is no reason to keep Free when you acquired Pro. Pro includes all Free functionality. Pro and Free share the same settings, thus you must keep them on the same version if you intend to use both.

So, i install FileZilla Pro and then i uninstall FileZilla ?

Or i first uninstall FileZilla and then i install FileZilla Pro ?

Thanks.

As long as you have installed it in different directories, any order works.

You mean that, by default, both programs use the same directory ?

To clarify: Pro vs. Free are installed to different directories, by default. The settings are shared. Uninstallation of Free will not remove your settings, and installation of Pro will pick them up again. You also could install Pro first, then remove free. Doesn't matter.
