FileZilla on Raspberry Pi crashes/freezes

Hey,

I set up a raspberry pi to download data from an FTP server with FileZilla. I basically left all the settings as they are (with the exception of the maximum number of concurrent transfers).

At the beginning everything worked out just fine. I first queued the whole folder to see how big it is and then downloaded the whole queue. Suddenly FileZilla started to freeze as soon as I click "Download" or "Add to queue". I already reinstalled everything, problem still exists. I tried the same on a MacBook, everything works out fine.

According to the task manager it does something. CPU usage is 20-30%, memory usage goes up up 2-3 GB until FileZilla closes.

Any idea what I could do/where the problem seems to be?

I also tried a different FTP client on the Raspberry and that worked out fine.

Debian version is 10.3. FileZilla version is 3.39.0 (compiled on 2019-01-25).

I also tried 3.40.0, same problem. How do I compile a newer version locally?

Using these instructions 3.40.0 is the newest version I can use?

Forget the tags. Download the source tarballs from https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?show_all=1
