Destroys whole directories

#1 Post by SomebodySmart » 2020-03-27 14:58

When I double-click on a directory, it deletes it. I'm using Mac OS X Catalina and this is the second time it deleted a directory. I'm not sure if the first time I was using FileZilla or maybe Finder but luckily I found the directory in the Trash directory and was able to restore it. Today it was FileZilla. It erased a directory on the remote server. Have other people encountered this?

Are you sure you are double-clicking and not using drag&drop followed by a click?

I'm doing double click. Maybe my mouse malfunctions and tells the machine to drag it, but I doubt that because I'm not moving the mouse anywhere. Besides, it should ask to confirm.

That's odd. When this happens, what does it say in the message log?
