Shared FileZilla site list

#1 Post by djcp84 » 2020-12-18 00:18

Is it possible to define where FileZilla looks in order to load the Sites list?

I ask because I use various machines and want to ideally host the sites config on a Google Drive so when I update the sites on one machine it is synced with other clients.

The config directory location can be re-located. Check out the fzdefaults.xml.example template file in the ./docs subdirectory.

By placing the config directory to a cloud location, you can have multiple FileZilla clients access and use it. But, and that's a very big BUT, only one FileZilla can access the directory at any given time. It cannot be shared!

True synchronizing of settings and sites is implemented into FileZilla Pro (paid).

You should not place the configuration directory to a place where other programs play around in, not even third-party synchronization programs. FileZilla is built on the assumption that it alone accesses files in its settings directory.

Thanks everyone. Both replies duly noted, I will play around and see what I can get working. It will only be accessed by one at a time.
