I would like to schedule an FTP transfer weekly or daily

Can I do that with FileZilla?

Filezilla 3: No.
Filezilla 2: Only partially.

Get a fully scriptable command line FTP for that.

NcFTP would be such a client.

lftp is fully scriptable. Not sure if it runs on Windows though.
