Drag&Drop causes crash of FileZilla 3.0.8 & 3.0.8.1, on Mac

#1 Post by gungadoo » 2008-03-18 10:02

I've noticed that under OS X 10.5.2 the 2 latest versions (i686-apple-darwin9, version 3.0.8) crash when I try to Drag & Drop (upload) either from the left panel of FileZilla or from any other finder window for that matter.
I tried the latest nightly built (2008-03-18, i686-apple-darwin9) same problem. Anyone experiencing the same problem ?

Do you have any third party programs installed that bring along system-wide libraries?

No 3rd party installed programs that deal with system-wide libraries. Incidentally, when I go back 2 versions of FileZilla, it works fine.

I have exactly the same problem.
I'm running OS X 10.5.2 and Filezilla version 3.0.8

Can't do anything related to dragging without Filezilla crashing.

Any suggestions?

I should point out I'm not dragging from a network share but still have the problem.

All,

We are experiencing this same problem on multiple machines, all running 10.5.2.
Specifically when dragging from a network share. If there is any additional information I can supply that would assist in solving this issue, please feel free to request it.

I've included some crash info here.

I have the same problem and it continues with the latest version of the program (3.0.9.1). It started right after the 10.5.2 upgrade. It happens with the upload of any local file. Everything else that I've tested works properly.

I can not reproduce this problem, it has to be something specific to your system.

I can reproduce on all five of my Mac OS X.5.2 systems. Clean installed.

Please let me know what I can provide in order to assist in a resolution.
Thank you,

I need more information, much more.

What's local and remote directory? What's the complete contents of both local and remote directory? How _exactly_ do you start the drag, where _exactly_ do you drop? Some screenshots would be nice for this.
Any other programs other than FileZilla running? Any other programs installed other than the programs OS X itself brings along?

I also wouldn't mind SSH + remote desktop access to your system, then I could analyze it myself. It's very hard to fix problems I cannot reproduce.

ok, same problem here in all versions since 3.0.8.

the exact proceeding when it crashes (as you wanted to know) in my case is as simple as:
at the time i drag an item out of "it's" box filezilla crashes.
i could drag it around the folder where it resides, but that starts beeing boring after about half an hour

I still could not reproduce it. Unless somebody gives me full remote access and much time on an affected system, I won't ever be able to fix this.

I am working on it! I've had some time constraint issues.

I've just upgraded to the latest release of FileZilla (3.0.9.2 compiled for i686-apple-darwin9) and still experience the problem.
Furthermore, I've found that while Filezilla is open, even if I drag&drop a file from another window to another window (not even coming to FileZilla), it crashes...

Same problem here, since updating to the lastest version from an old version (I think below 3.0.8).
When dragging some file to a server, connected with ssh, FileZilla crashes. I am using a MacBook Pro 2.2 GHZ (Intel Core 2 Duo) with MacOSX 10.5.2

Is there any download link for an old working version?

So part of my question will be answered by me, older versions can be found here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... e_id=15149

For me 3.0.6 was the first that worked for me (when I went back in versions). But I didn't try 3.0.7, just 3.0.7.1. So the problem has to be from 3.0.6 to 3.0.7 or 3.0.7 to 3.0.7.1
