A big day for the open source community

#1 Post by eddan » 2004-11-09 09:37

You all probably know already, but today is the day our beloved new browser FireFox is finally released.

I've had FF as my default browser since around 0.6 and have been looking forward to FF 1.0 for quite some time :)

Are you guys currently using it? Or are you using another browser?

How can I vote, if I use another browser ?

K-Meleon, and I don't want to change (v 0.9 is about to be released)

And what is the link with Filezilla ?

Should it be a spam ?

Sorry, thought I had included an "other" option there, but seems I didn't hit Add or something.

Spam? Well, up to botg to decide, but this is the off-topic forum, and the link with FZ is that FF also is open source, and a very good example of one imo.

Using firefox for a year now. It's faster and more secure compared to IE.

Just love it!

Because I am using IE right now, I voted for it. I also use IE more often than FF, but I do use FF quite a bit.

I use Firefox on linux primarly nowdays... and have used several hundred nightly builds on Windows/Linux, though I have not used many builds since firefox 1.0 release as I don't have as much time now along with the fact I'm not a huge fan of Trunk Nightlies right now.

Firefox 1.1 is due around March or so http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/roadmap.html

I guess that fact I use linux mostly now explains why I have not posted lately...

I'm using Opera... FF is fine (my other half uses it), but Opera's integration is wonderful.

Does anyone here use Google Chrome? What do you think about it? I've always used Firefox. Chrome vs Firefox, which is the best? :?:

Pure taste. Btw. you get -1 karma for thread necromancy.

Put this to rest, finally.
