When I use Filezilla, I seem to get disconnected quite quickly, which I don't have a problem with.
However, it doesn't actually end the session so I end up with a message along the lines of maximum connections (5) exceeded.
Is there anything I can set to ensure that the session is terminated when Filezilla disconnects?
I have asked my web hosts and they said it is a bug with Filezilla and suggested using a different FTP client.
I don't seem to have a problem when uploading from Dreamweaver.
I use both in passive mode.

Can they prove that? I'd love to see if they found a bug in the source.themistral wrote:I have asked my web hosts and they said it is a bug with Filezilla

Re: Too many connections
OK so you obviously don't think it's a bug with Filezilla.
Can you suggest any server configs that may cause this error - I can't believe I'm the first person to have the problem.
Just to clarify, my hosts are good - if I notice something isn't working correctly or is timing out, they will look into stuff and fix it.
So if I go back to them with a possible server problem, they will look into it.

Re: Too many connections
Obviously the stupid setting that limits the number of connections allowed. Proper servers allow thousands of simultaneous connections without any ill effect. Can you suggest any server configs that may cause this error - I can't believe I'm the first person to have the problem.

Re: Too many connections
FileZilla 2.2.32 Works Fine (1 hour ago).
FileZilla 3.1.0.? Works Fine (1 hour ago). (Previous version to 3.1.1.1.)
Problem also started for me with implementing (just an hour ago) when I updated 2 PCs (one from each of the listed versions above) to FileZilla 3.1.1.1. My guess is that the problem is in FileZilla 3.1.1.1.
