CLear single entry in connect history
Hello, I have recently started using Filezilla and I find that its a very nice program. But I do have one question. Is there a way to delete a single entry in the connection history.
I do allot of work on various sites helping others install phpnuke CMS and help others with issues they are having or help create blocks or modules for there CMS. For a long time I was using SmartFTP, and there were a few features that I liked.
One of the features they had that I liked was the feature that you could delete a single server rather then delete the whole connect history. Is that a feature on your product that allows you to pick a single connect and delete it? If not, I think that would be a good feature to try adding into your program.
Another feature I am not sure that you guys have thought about was to have the ability to have the servers connected and have the ability to switch between servers as if they were in tabs. That was another feature that I liked. Just trying to suggest a few features I have seen before and were great features.

Quick connect is exactly as it's name tells you: quick and dirty. For servers you regularly connect to, use the Site Manager.
You can delete single entries directly in the XML file.

Hi Boco,
Please tell me how to get to the XML file in order to delete single entries.
It shouldn't be that difficult to make that a standard feature, I guess.
If one tries to link to one's server, and that fails (sometimes repeatedly) one is stuck with redoing all (I maintain more than one website).
Regards,
Hans

Why don't you just use the Site Manager? I don't get it.
The file is in %APPDATA%\Filezilla\recentservers.xml (Windows)
~/.filezilla/recentservers.xml (others)

Re: CLear single entry in connect history
I guess its because its right there, like you said, its quick and dirty. Sometimes I have a site on there for 2 days and going and setting it up in the site manager does get to be more of a hassle if you have to do it a few times a day, 5 - 7 days a week. Other ones I will need for 3 or 4 days. And only having the option of "Clear quickconnect bar" and "Clear history", makes my list of sites and FTP in the quick connect history quite large.boco wrote:Why don't you just use the Site Manager? I guess that's why we think it would be another feature to think about.

1. Connect to the FTP site.
2. Menu File - Copy current connection to Site Manager
3. Enter a name, press <RETURN>, done.

Re: CLear single entry in connect history
even then, Your now adding on a little more time to everything that basically the quick connect was to bypass, also to be able to quickly go to the drop down list right there and select you site you need, you now would need to click
File / Site manager/ find server
Yes I know about the quick connect of Ctrl S, but for someone that is usually with 10 programs open and all my monitors willed with I am working, I don't like using them that much. I guess you just don't get it, its more of a principal of the thing and looking for something fast.
It was just a feature that I know I would use allot and I believe others would also. I guess it will be just something that will have to be manually deleted for even as just a suggestion, it is being meet with a strong dismay. Oh well.

Right-clicking the sitemanager button gets you a dropdown menu as well.

I agree with coRpSE,
I believe it would be easy to implement a Right Click in the list of servers in the Quick Connect button, and your option is to remove from list. As of this moment, a Right Click is the same as a Left Click. So it would seem to be available and a simple solution.
but that is my two cents (and maybe what it is worth )
