553-Can't open that file: No such file or directory

#1 Post by mrdesign » 2009-08-10 15:42

I have been using Filezilla recently but every now and again when I'm trying to upload a file I get "553-Can't open that file: No such file or directory" and I can't upload anything. If I wait between 10-15 minutes I am then able to upload again.

Does anyone know why this is and how to resolve it as it's very frustrating when trying to build a website.

Many thanks

Looks like a very broken server. Contact the server administrator for help.

Hi, I contacted my server who said that everything is fine on their end. I also made sure filezilla was named as an exception in my firewall but I'm still getting errors a lot of the time. Is there anything else I can check?

Thanks.

Yes, forget about that server, use a better.

Is it definitely the server then? Could it not be another problem?

Yes, looks like it's the server. A second, though unlikely possibility is a very very broken firewall or router sabotaging the connection.
