FileZilla loses queue on crash / improper shutdown

#1 Post by asmodeus » 2009-12-14 05:25

It seems like FileZilla is very picky about exiting. Sometimes it hangs and I have to kill the process. After that, queue is empty and I have to re-add files (2800 files!) in the queue, which takes long time. I export queue from time to time but this is unacceptable. Shouldn't there be some sort of queue auto-backup or anything like that?

FileZilla 3.3.0.1,
Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

It should neither crash nor hang. Please describe the steps necessary to reproduce any crashes.

Well, it does. I'm not sure how to reproduce the crash/hang. It just happens sometimes, when I log in to my computer over Remote Desktop and I'm unable to bring FileZilla window from the tray icon.

You didn't answer the main question though - why does it lose the queue and is there a way to prevent it?

For performance reasons the queue is only saved when you close FileZilla.

That certainly sucks for me. Is this hardcoded?

Yes, but FileZilla is open source.

Right, but I'm not coder.

OK, I found when it hangs. It only hangs when I access my computer through Remote Desktop and try to bring it from the system tray. This is when something happens and it breaks.

Can you please create a ticket on http://trac.filezilla-project.org/ so that I won't forget to look into this?
