I'm currently started working on a Swedish translation of FileZilla3. I guess it will be finished around september 5th.

problem with locale ca_AD

#19 Post by martini » 2005-09-29 22:27

Locale ca_AD is not displayed as "Catalan" at Language list (optionspage_language) but at locales if I rename the dir to "ca" or "ca_ES" then it's displayed in the list...

Probably just because he haven't had the time to yet. Last time he updated the translations was on the 26th of September, so if you sent it to him after that you'll just have to wait until he decides to update them again.

The reason why I don't commit all new/updated language files right away is because my working version of the source already contains strings for incomplete features, merging the catalogs would result in problems since in CVS there's only the old source without the new strings.

Hi.

I have just finished a Portuguese (Portugal) translation for FileZilla 3. I have sent it to the mailbox sugested in the FileZilla 3 translation page.

I intend to keep updating it as the development proceeds.

Turkish Language update

#26 Post by scuba2 » 2006-02-02 18:01

Full Turkish language file for nightly build of
january 30th 2006.

By the way, why there are & signs in front of some
letters in translation texts. Are they shortcut
pointers of menu items?

They are shortcuts for the different program items like checkboxes, radio buttons and normal buttons. Fire up FZ3, open the settings menu and experience with ALT + a key combinations. E.g. under "Transfer Mode" in the english translation you can go ALT + L to toggle the "Limit local ports" option.

is there need for spanish translation? I noticed that v2.2.18 has mixed spanish/english when I select Espanol language option, it isn't 100% spanish (yet)

I would like to help translate. Please contact me :) I can speak/read/write in Spanish 100% (and English, I live in Canada)

Thank you,
felipe

I saw the translations page, and discovered that (es) is not finished yet. I'd like to help

So i downloaded gettext and POedit - but I can't run them? not win32 files? needs compiling? How do i do that

edit: so now I realize that I "do not" need gettext, only POedit. Correct?

Felipe: The page you've come over is to translate FZ 3; the next version of FileZilla. Translating FZ 2 is a much more complex operation, you shouldn't even try since you're already having problems translating FZ 3.

First you need to download poEdit for Windows. Go to their site and look for something like poedit-version-setup.exe. Install it. Then grab es.po from the FZ 3 translation page and edit it using poEdit.

Oh, and you don't need gettext.

Good luck.
