Last modified date for new downloads

It seems to me that Filezilla used to set the Last Modified Date to
the date of the file on the server. That way you could tell if the files
have been modified or not since the last download. I thought I even
remember an option asking if I wanted the dates set that way.

In 3.5, it doesn't work that way and I can't see any way to make it
work that way. Is that the way it is now?

Will it be changed soon?

There's an option to preserve timestamps in the transfer menu.
