100% CPU problem...

#1 Post by winampman » 2006-07-16 16:48

I think Filezilla is great, and it has never crashed on me before... but ever since I started using it with version 2.2.17 (now 2.2.25), I get this problem.

When I'm using the sFTP, CPU usage jumps from 0 to 100% after being connected for 40 minutes or more. Its always at the 40 minute mark for some reason. Its very annoying when I need to leave the window open. I have to close Filezilla and reopen it. I don't know why this is happening. :(

100% CPU USAGE!

#2 Post by scippie » 2006-08-22 13:54

I have the same problem since version I don't know anymore.
Now I am running 2.2.28 and the problem is still there.

I use sftp on three different XP computers and I start uploading files to the ftp server. It works fine for a while but after a minute or so, cpu starts topping to 100% (around 50% on HT cpu)

Process explorer shows filezilla using almost all cpu, and 4 sftp-exe thingies in the filezilla tree using almost no cpu. The transfer is fast enough though (uses almost all my upload bandwidth which is 512kbps).

So everything works fine, but my portable computer heats up terribly. Because of a cooling problem with my portable computer, I can't use filezilla for a long time.

This is keeping me from donating. The problem has been reported multiple times and there is no reply. FileZilla is great, but I can't use it seriously because of this problem.

Please fix this!

Dirk.

Please try a test version of the upcoming FileZilla 3, you can download it from http://filezilla-project.org/nightly.php
Does the problem still happen with FileZilla 3?

Hi,

I tried using the 3.0 version, and I tried to upload a lot of files.
The file transfer fails, lots of errors appear, so I don't know if it is a good test, but the CPU didn't seem to go higher than 2%.

I don't know if that's a good test, as the uploading itself didn't work.

A log with enabled debug information would be nice if you get errors.
