Editor/Designer for mac

#1 Post by Oscarbird » 2012-01-28 12:56

Hi,
I have dreamweaver on my PC but the website I have been given to edit and update seems to have been built using a mac so I cant seem to edit some of it. I have a mac but have no Web design software on it as yet.
Can anyone advise me on Software for a mac that gives me complete access to use the files I have downloaded in filezilla and then edit the HTML files and upload them after I have edited it.

Please help

HTML code is platform-independent. Thus it should work on all OS with any compliant editor (even a text editor works). Do you download the HTML files as ASCII?

Could your problem lie with the different line-ending scheme of the files from the Mac? All code seems to be on one line, or has strange characters added? There are converting tools or editors which can help in this case. I know of Notepad++ and Notepad2 for Windows with this capability.

Thanks,
Right I'm back on my windows PC.

The issue I am having is the website has a News blog. I need to take the 2010/11 news feeds off and move them to the archive and then update it for 2012. BUT i dont know how
The website has "widgets" in it and a logo that says created by mac.

Please remember we do not support website modifications. For that, seeking help in an HTML forum would be better.

The ''Made with a Mac'' is rather a slogan than a technical issue.

Lumia 920. Edit the file(It probably is some HTML file) So open it with any text editor, FIND (CTRL+F) "2010/11" and replace. Then save it and upload to your server. Same think for logo, edit, find and replace.

Been having the same problem, came across this thread earlier :)
I've since been using Sublime 2 text editor, try it!
