I keep seeing "critical file transfer error" with response 553: Can't open that file. Not a directory.

I can connect to the server just fine, and I was able to complete file transfers last night until I updated my version of Filezilla. I've tried deleting it from my hard drive, restarting the computer and downloading it again, but no luck. Any suggestions? Here's some of the logs:

In the directory /public_html/Site, is there a file named Site? You cannot have a directory Site if a file with the same name already exists. That's a common limitation of some file systems.

Hm...so what should I do? Just rename the file? And why hasn't this ever been a problem before? I think it's always said "Site" under both the local site and the remote site.

Look closer. A directory/folder named ''Site'' is OK, but a file named ''Site'' will block creation of a directory with the same name.

This is the line I mean. ''Not a directory'' could mean two things:

1. There is a file with that name in the directory. No idea why it would be there. Renaming that file allows the directory to be created.
2. The server is using symbolic links and they aren't working correctly.

My question is: What icon does the entry /public_html/Site/Site have? A small folder symbol or a different one? Can you manually change into it?

Third option, it it does not exist it is not a directory.

Thanks! Renaming the file on the local site allowed me to get a successful directory listing. But the live site still doesn't have the updates.

Renaming the file on the local site? So you have a file named ''Site'' there? A file ''Site'' and a directory ''Site'' cannot coexist.

As for the changes, cleared browser cache?
