I was trying to upload a folder to the filezilla window, but when I dragged it over it somehow took my entire desktop with it. Obviously I didn't want to download my desktop, so I deleted it. However, instead of just deleting the files off the download portion, it started deleting stuff off my actual desktop. Files got deleted that I need for work and I need them back! I use a Mac and I checked the trash to see if they were there but they weren't. I was wondering if there was a way to recover these files that got deleted.
Hopefully this is possible. If you could email back at this address instead that'd be great: sam.bennettphotog@gmail.com
Thanks!

Re: recovering files
If you have deleted files by accident you need to restore them from your most recent backup.

Re: recovering files
How do I do that exactly?? They're not in my trash so not sure where to get them.
Re: recovering files
No, botg refers to the backup you made before you started working with your data.

Re: recovering files
I didn't do anytype of backup though is what I'm saying. The files got deleted from the ftp thing and just disappeared off my computer and I can't find the files. I need help recovering those files. Is there a way to do that or am I screwed?
Re: recovering files
Without a backup, and without them being in the trash, deleted files are pretty much gone. There's expensive forensic software/hardware that could recover at least a part of the data, though.
Thus, make a backup. Always.
