Pretty sure I'm on the official site, but the 'Sourceforge' download link gets blocked by Chrome & my AntiVirus (ESET), presumably because of some payload, or a url switcher. Is there an issue, or can we not have a straight link?

I have no idea why it blocks the download. While the SourceForge Installer may present third-party offers, they are clearly labeled as such. All third-party offers can easily be declined via the big decline button at the bottom of the window. Nothing unwanted is being installed without your consent. Declining offers does not prevent nor otherwise disturb the installation of FileZilla.

If you do not wish to use the SourceForge installer, have a look at the additional download options listed on the FileZilla website.

Well, Chrome is blocking it for me, too.

Sourceforge installers, for the last year or two, have been trying to sneak in all kinds of crap. Clearly labeled...not so much. At best, they're using dark usability patterns to trick people into clicking the install buttons. (yes, that's a thing: http://darkpatterns.org/)

I'd prefer an official download link, but sourceforge seems to be the only option on the site here.

I was able to download with Firefox. See attached image for an example of a dark usability pattern in the FileZilla installer.

At this point, I'd already clicked "decline" on the first offer, then on the second offer they made the terms of use section a lot bigger--at first glance I thought they were the terms of use for Filezilla. Nope.

This is why Google is blocking Sourceforge downloads. And I don't blame them.

I never knew about those 'dark patterns'! For a couple of years I'd had an 'old' installer which simply updated itself. I've only just needed to download from the site itself. I *did* manage to find a 'clean' link, but I hate the Sourceforge pages, as they are stuffed with misleading links. I don't remember these problems from before, & surely FZ doesn't need to use these flaky services?
