I often use a 3rd party search utility to look for specific files, and when I find a result I'm looking for, I have to then navigate to the file within Filezilla's folder tree and open it through Filezilla in order for the file to be considered "watched". I would really like to be able to just open the file from the search utility and start working on it immediately.
Is there any way for me to tell Filezilla to watch all the files in a certain folder so that I can open them from outside Filezilla and still have them watched for changes and prompt for upload?

Is it possible to watch entire folder contents for changes?

FileZilla only checks for changes of files edited through FileZilla. There are no "watch" options.

Okay, so maybe "watch" wasn't the exact term, but essentially when editing a file through FileZilla, the program "watches" those files for changes.boco wrote:FileZilla only checks for changes of files edited through FileZilla. There are no "watch" options.
What I'm looking for is a way to arbitrarily/manually add files (such as the entire contents of a directory) to the "files being edited" list so that FileZilla will check all of them for changes during my work session.

To the best of my knowledge, that's not possible, sorry.

I didn't think so, but maybe it could be a feature in the future? Basically one way it could work is that you could right click on file(s) or folder(s) in the directory tree in FileZilla and have the option to "Watch for changes" (including all files inside selected folder(s)) without having to open all of them immediately.boco wrote:To the best of my knowledge, that's not possible, sorry.
Anyway, thanks for the reply.
