Cannot Upload - file transfer is in a loop

#1 Post by bobnisbet » 2016-11-29 18:49

I upgraded to the newwest version, 3.222.2. I cannot upload. After drag and drop it goes to 100% and immediately repeats in a loop until I kill it, file is never transferred. I believe I am logged into my web site correctly, can see all my files out there on Godaddy. I've used Filezilla for 15 years without any problem. Bummed.

Same issue here: login is normal, upload starts normally, but then fails near the end of the transfer and restarts, looping forever. File size/type is irrelevant. Not a space problem on the server.

32-bit Win 7, Filezilla v. 3.22.2.2

Log:
Response: 150 Opening BINARY mode data connection.
Response: 550 The supplied message is incomplete. The signature was not verified.
Error: File transfer failed after transferring 408,378 bytes in 3 seconds

I don't know what the 2nd line above refers to, but it looks relevant.

It's a server hosted by godaddy, and what's odd is that the problem doesn't happen on a different godaddy server that I use.

I hadn't uploaded anything to this server for a couple of months, so I don't know if the problem started with the current version of Filezilla which, iirc, is pretty recent.

Thanks.

Edit: I see here viewtopic.php?t=34359 (from 2014) that it may be a security issue on the server side, but it seems inconceivable that godaddy would not be up to date in this regard.

Edit #2: I used plain FTP for the upload and that solved the problem. I will contact godaddy.

Yes, it is relevant. Means that GoDaddy is running a broken MS server for which it hasn't applied the necessary fix.

OK, thanks. I'll contact godaddy.

As this problem is relatively new, would the reason for its appearance be that FileZilla has recently made a change in its encryption reqts?

Or would it result from something changing at godaddy? It'd seem unlikely that they'd regress a server to an older version of MS IIS that required the patch.

Nothing has changed recently. Do you by chance have updated from a very, very old version of FileZilla?

No, I pretty much keep up with the suggested updates. I have updated a few times in the last year.

Edit: I am currently chatting with a godaddy guy who has verified the upload problem on his end, and that the MS IIS version on my server is old.
