error 530 can not connect

error 530 can not connect

I just did the update today, but now I cannot connect.
I used the same host, user name and password.
I tried it several times with copy and paste from my external password keeper and manually.
It seems it does not accept the pass word, if that would be the case, how or where can I change the password?
This is what comes up:

The username is empty. Try entering a username.

Thank you for the reply, I did enter the username, password and host server, but deleted them before posting on the forum.
BTW, I did have the correct user name and password on an external HD, thus it was not a matter of forgetting those.

I see.

Please double-check your login credentials, watch out for character case and leading/trailing whitespace. Contact your server administrator or server hosting provider for further assistance if the issue persists.

I did enter the log-in credentials several times including manually typing it in beside copy and paste.
I do get connected to the server, thus I assume that either I did one time change the password or it got somehow corrupted.
Is there a way to establish/get a new password?

I did contact my host server and it appears that I had an legacy sftp that did not work with the updated Filezilla.
I shall try the new set up and let you know if I succeeded.

That's odd. According to the log you are not even using SFTP.

I'm getting the error 530 cannot connect message. Tried countless times to connect with the accurate login information with no success. I did the update and the problem remained afterwards.

Error 530 is a 100% server error. If you cannot log in, it's because the server doesn't let you. You need to contact server support.
No support requests over PM! You will NOT get any reply!!!

there is one more situation giving the 530 error:

if you are connecting to the FTP server from LAN, but external firewall address is specified in the server configuration

The external IPv4 specified in the FTP server configuration applies only to data connections (listings, transfers), namely the PASV response. It will not have any effect on the initial connection. Unless you have a malicious firewall actively sabotaging FTP.
