Hello everyone,
I tried searching the forum for my problem, and the closest I got was this thread: http://forum.filezilla-project.org/view ... 78&p=17423
I'm having a similar problem. This is what FileZilla says when I try to connect to a FTP server:
Status: Resolving IP-Address for ftp.wbz36.registeredsite.com
Status: Connecting to 207.xxx.xxx.xxx:xx...
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Response: 220-Microsoft FTP Service
Response: 220 IPSWBZxxxxxxxx (Customer FTP)
Command: USER user15xxxxx
Response: 331 Password required for user15xxxxx.
Command: PASS **********
Response: 530 User user15xxxxx cannot log in.
Error: Could not connect to server
The troubling thing is that FTP has always worked on this computer until yesterday evening, when any FTP client I tried gave me this same error message. I'm running Windows Vista Premium Edition (32-bit) on an HP Pavilion dv6449us notebook computer.
I tried doing a system restore to a time when I knew it worked, but that didn't help. The other thread recommended disabling Microsoft FTP Service, but I don't even know how to do that in Vista.
Any ideas? I would be incredibly grateful.

Wrong user, password, or host. Double check. Some servers treat username as case-sensitive, too.
The other thread is about the server on the own computer, while yours is on a remote computer. Not related.

Well, it seems I was inadvertently using a temporary password. I have the right one now, and it works fine. Thanks for the reply.

Doesn't the fact that Filezilla found the proper address mean that the host is correct?
I'm just wondering because I have a very similar problem and I'm sure that my login and pw are correct since I just used them to log in to Godaddy and I made sure to type them correctly in Filezilla.

The server doesn't accept your login data. If you're sure it's correct, contact the server administrator.
